Growing up, my Mother read Winnie-the-Pooh at bedtime. The character of a Bear of Very Little Brain appealed to her and to me. I put together this simple stride arrangement a number of years ago. The song’s instant recognition is a testament to the Harold Arlen’s creative genius. A few days ago, I played a segment of it for a six year young student who was finished with her part of the piano lesson. From the very first line, she began dancing with abandon, clearly demonstrating her familiarity with the tune.
